The redevelopment work on the Quartu stretch of Poetto from S'Arena to the fountain, towards Margine Rosso, was supposed to be completed today, as per the schedule announced a few weeks ago. Instead, it will continue until June 30th. Beachgoers will have to resign themselves to going to the beach with the construction work for at least a few more weeks, once the bike path, promenade, and other areas are completed. The planting will still need to be completed, but it will be completed later. All access to the beach resorts and beaches will remain open.
On the other side, toward Cagliari, work will resume in September. For now, everything has been closed, and access to the beach and resorts has been guaranteed. In the section from the fountain toward Margine Rosso, where there is no promenade, work will only be done to beautify and redevelop the roadside.
The regional government had already given the green light for the second and third phases last year. These works, financed with nine million euros in National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) funds, are set to radically transform the face of the city's waterfront.
