United, to urge the Region to solve the problem linked to Tossilo ( Macomer ), where the workers do not receive their salary and where it has not yet been decided when to start the waste-to-energy plant, which cost a good 52 million euros.
The company and the trade unions met this morning (by videoconference) to analyze the dramatic situation and to invite politicians to remedy the drama involving the entire territory.
The president of Tossilo Spa, Antonio Delitala, the trade union representatives, Sandro Fronteddu (Cgil), Gianni Loddo (Cisl), William Zonca (Uil), took stock and gave precise directives on how to act next Thursday, at the summit convened by the Prefecture of Nuoro. «We rely on the decisions of the Prefect - says Loddo - but we also ask for a hearing with the fifth commission of the regional council. We want the resources to start up the Tossilo waste platform to be included in the budget that will be approved".
Everyone in today's meeting agreed that there is a lack of political will to solve the problem , which is becoming dramatic not only for workers but for the entire territory, both from a social and economic point of view. «The situation has reached the limit of legitimacy - says the president of Tossilo Spa, Antonio Delitala - there is no money to pay salaries and there is no money to start up the plants. The essentials are missing to guarantee an important public service. The municipalities of half of Sardinia will soon find themselves facing a dramatic situation, as regards the transfer of waste, given that the landfills are now full. The Region must give immediate answers ».
The company and the unions are united in asking for concrete solutions and rely on the decisions of the Prefect, in the meeting to be held in Nuoro next Thursday.
