«We weren't in business, but I knew him very well. None of us ever gave cocaine to Giovanni Satta. We met at a birthday party in Olbia and I hung out with him for months. But there was never a drug sale in Satta. He was someone who talked a lot and went to bars in Olbia with unreliable people. He wasn't one of our group."
With these words the Albanian boss Eugert Bici cleared the former regional councilor and former mayor of Buddusò, Giovanni Satta, from the accusation of having moved cocaine. Eugert Bici, already convicted in Cagliari, appeared as a witness before the judges of the Tempio Court and answered for hours the questions of the prosecutor of the Cagliari DDA, Rossana Allieri, and of the defence.
Bici also said that he had not purchased cars from Satta to use on his drug trips. The former regional councilor was arrested by the Olbia Carabinieri on 6 April 2016 for international cocaine trafficking.
And today there was also another twist : Eugert Bici's brother, Kleton, the great accuser of the former mayor of Buddusò, told the judges that he did not remember anything of what happened in Olbia in 2012 and that he had done the statements against Satta, during the investigations, in a state of confusion. A hearing, therefore, entirely in favor of the defense (Angelo Merlini and Donatella Corronciu). Prosecutor Rossana Allieri obtained the minutes of Kleton Bici's statements.
