The communication comes from the ASL of Cagliari, which reports the positive conclusion of the validation of "the HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service pre-surveyed) operating site" , equipped with a GSM system for remote management of the lighting system.

«The Hems air rescue service has the task of ensuring timely medical intervention for people who, due to health or environmental conditions, need urgent assistance», explains the general director of the ASL, Marcello Tidore. «It also plays a fundamental role in integrating the services offered by the hospital and local emergency networks, creating a rapid connection, in terms of time, between spoke hospitals and hub hospitals in relation to “Time-dependent” pathologies. ", whose prognosis is linked to diagnostic tests and therapeutic treatments to be carried out quickly and in suitable hospitals".

Thanks to the collaboration with Areus, adds Tidore, «and with the Municipality of Isili, we are now able to guarantee the 24-hour air rescue service to all citizens of the Sarcidano, Barbagia di Seulo and Trexenta area».

The manager specifies that «the air ambulance is not a service that replaces the emergency room but it is very important to give safety to the increasingly numerous doctors who work in the Isili hospital knowing that, if there are situations of complications, the patients can be promptly transferred to a hospital equipped for adequate treatment".
