Tempio Emergency Room: half-service, closed, reopened. All in one night.
First, the Local Health Authority announced: "Come only for minor health issues." Then came the total ban and the subsequent countermand, following the mayor's intervention.Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
It was a busy night for the Tempio Emergency Department, where the Paolo Dettori hospital was at the center of a singular sequence of incidents that do not bode well for the reliability of the healthcare service.
The facts are these. On February 1st, the Olbia Local Health Authority announced that due to staffing shortages (unable to cover shifts) , only the "management" of minor codes was guaranteed until the following day. Unfortunately, this is a situation that occurs frequently. Last night, however, something happened that completely changed the situation: the service was suspended, meaning the Emergency Room was closed and patients were assigned to specialists in other departments .
At that point , the mayor of Tempio, Gianni Addis, intervened on the scene and yesterday evening the municipal administration of the Gallura town posted a countermand: the emergency room is open.
The Local Health Authority (ASL) is restoring order, so to speak, with an evening update, announcing that the night shift on February 2nd is also guaranteed for "major codes." Services based on specific time slots and on a random basis are the latest innovation in the Gallura healthcare system.
