The young man had been hospitalized for days in the medical department of the Paolo Dettori hospital in Tempio , but yesterday morning his condition rapidly worsened and the staff at the Tempio hospital arranged for an urgent transfer to the Giovanni Paolo II hospital in Olbia, where, unfortunately, the patient died almost immediately, apparently due to a massive pulmonary embolism.
The boy had presented to the emergency room with severe chest pain and was initially sent home . Only after a second visit to the emergency department was he admitted to the hospital.
