Strong smell of gas in Cagliari and its hinterland: firefighters have received numerous reports.

Numerous reports of a strong gas odor arrived at the fire department dispatcher from Cagliari and the surrounding area today. Emergency crews conducted checks and investigations, but were unable to identify the source of the smell.
On Monday, several people in the center of Cagliari also smelled gas on Viale Diaz , but in that case, according to the investigations carried out by the police, it was due to a burst pipe caused by a vehicle working on the construction site for the surface metro line.
Reports are now appearing in large numbers, even on social media. This isn't new; similar incidents occurred over the summer. On June 1st, as a precaution, suspecting a gas leak, the Riva school in Piazza Garibaldi was evacuated . The same thing happened on June 12th, when the Marino hospital was evacuated . At the time, checks had ruled out the involvement of the main gas storage and distribution companies.
In all these cases, however, including today's, the origin of the phenomenon has not yet been clarified.
