«The newly appointed commissioner of the AOU of Cagliari, Vincenzo Serra, is saddened to learn of the news of Lila's initiative, as he has never been contacted by anyone on the disputed issue, and declares himself available, at any time, to meet patients and collect their evaluations, with the aim of finding the best solutions to guarantee an efficient service ».

Thus in a note the Aou responds to the call to arms of Lila Cagliari against the management of the transfer of the HIV center, which for weeks has forced those undergoing treatment to move between two hospital facilities, separated by eight kilometers, for visits and collection of drugs. A protest in the square is planned for tomorrow, Monday 19 May, from 11:00, in front of the San Giovanni di Dio hospital with patients, activists and citizens.

"The healthcare system is, throughout Italy, subjected to heavy critical issues of various kinds - replies Serra who, since May 5, has been in the offices of San Giovanni di Dio replacing Chiara Seazzu, the outgoing general director - For this reason, maintaining a continuous dialogue between companies and associations is one of the ways to reduce the inconveniences and improve the quality of the assistance provided ".

The protest aims to obtain the provision of therapy directly in the San Giovanni di Dio clinic, where the center was transferred from the Policlinico Duilio Casula "without warning or communication to patients," explains Brunella Mocci of the association. The move, which occurred in the space of 48 hours a few weeks ago, has created disorientation and logistical difficulties for hundreds of people. The Tribunal for Patients' Rights, the Arc association and Cittadinanzattiva have also joined the mobilization, while an online petition has exceeded 400 signatures in less than five days.
