"We inform you that, due to unfortunate events that took place yesterday evening in Doctor Tosi's surgery, today the same doctor resigned with immediate effect".

The communication from the mayor of Siliqua, Francesca Atzori, does not go into detail to explain what happened in the study of the town, left without a general practitioner.

The person concerned, Pierandrea Tosi, who had assumed the position last March 13, therefore not even a month ago, prefers not to make statements, "also given the delicacy of the situation". But he explains that there was no physical assault. A patient reportedly verbally attacked and threatened him. A tense situation also caused by the fact that for months Siliqua was without a local health service. Thus the needs have accumulated. Resulting in a pressure, with numerous daily presences in the studio, linked to dangerous rudeness, which the professional judged unsustainable. And he resigned.

"The municipal administration of Siliqua, in deprecating the behavior that caused this serious decision by the doctor", reads the note from the Municipality, "expresses its solidarity with Dr. Pierandrea Tosi on behalf of the whole community".

The mayor announces that "we reserve the right to carry out all the necessary actions so that the competent authorities can shed full light on what happened ".

The problem is that the country is once again uncovered and it is becoming difficult to even get a certificate: "We have already contacted the ASL management to find a new doctor as soon as possible".
