Accident in the center of Sestu, in via Cagliari.
This morning, a driverless Ford Fiesta smashed through the window of a large auto parts store. It was scary, but fortunately there were no injuries: just some damage.
The dynamics of the accident are still to be fully clarified.
According to witnesses, the car, owned by a customer of the shop and equipped with an automatic transmission, was parked with the engine running and – perhaps – the gear engaged.
Furthermore, it was not exactly parallel to the sidewalk and protruded a little onto the roadway. A light contact with a heavy vehicle was enough to set it off and, without control, it destroyed the window. The store's cameras will be examined to ascertain what happened.
