A cargo ship flying the Panamanian flag has received a detention order issued by the Port State Control Unit of the Port Authority of Cagliari. The General cargo arrived on April 24th.

Following checks on the conditions required by international regulations, aimed at verifying the safety conditions, living and working conditions of the crews on board and protecting the marine environment from pollution, serious deficiencies in preparation and response were found to emergencies by the crew, regarding the prevention and fight of fires and the management of on-board safety.

In total, 26 non-conformities were found, of which 12 were reasons for failure

detention.

At the disposal of the Port Authority, the ship will not be able to depart until the necessary safety conditions on board have been re-established, and only after it has been inspected again by the Port State Control unit.
