Serena Brancale has barely had time to add it to the lineup before she's already out of the Oristano September festival. The Apulian singer won't be in Oristano on September 19th: she's expected in Taormina that evening, among the stars of the Taormina Music Awards. This denial came just hours after news circulated from Palazzo Campus Colonna that a council resolution had been "approved" to include the concert in the program.

The case took shape on Tuesday afternoon, at the end of the executive meeting. According to reports, in addition to an evening for emerging artists on September 18th, the council approved Brancale's paid concert for the following day, in collaboration with the Pro Loco.

A few hours later, however, the artist's entourage denied the claim. And yesterday, the phone of the Entertainment Councilor Antonio Franceschi rang unanswered. Mayor Massimiliano Sanna, however, attempted to clarify: it was "a proposed resolution" and Brancale's name was "one of those we discussed." "We are evaluating the proposals and as soon as a decision is reached, we will make it official," he added, explaining that no statement had been issued because "a definitive agreement" was still lacking.

The date had also sparked controversy due to its clash with the Cabras Bottarga Festival. A problem had already emerged with The Kolors: the concert, initially scheduled for September 6th, concurrent with Baby K in San Salvatore, was then moved up to the 3rd.

The minority attacks. Massimiliano Daga calls it "yet another demonstration of a less than virtuous administration" and a "rather clumsy" attempt to find an artist "to fill a container that most people feel is empty."
