Poste Italiane intervenes following two armed attacks on its branches in Elini and Gairo . Responding to the CGIL and UIL unions that have called for increased security measures to protect employees, the company clarifies its security systems and provides statistics: "Poste Italiane has always been committed, including in Sardinia, to protecting customers, staff, and company assets."
"The sophisticated monitoring systems," he says, "control 476 company sites across the island with the help of 476 intrusion detection systems and 400 video surveillance systems, for a total of 3,166 security cameras."
Poste Italiane assures that most of the recent robberies have been foiled : "In recent years, thanks to these control and prevention systems and the timely intervention of the relevant Security Room, 84% of thefts at Postamat ATMs and 43% of robberies at Sardinian post offices have been unsuccessful."
In Sardinia's post offices, in addition to the progressive installation of state-of-the-art safes, the counters have also been equipped with cutting-edge security systems: there are 900 active "rollercashes," special timed safes connected to individual counters that secure the cash after each transaction.
