Sciampitta, the international folklore festival organized by the Città di Quarto group, bids the Quarto public a happy farewell.

After seven days of performances and initiatives, the 41st edition of the festival has come to a close. Groups from Argentina, Portugal, Peru, and Friuli bid farewell on the final evening, filmed live by Videolina cameras, on the stage set up in the market square. And it was once again a celebration of color, sound, costumes, and traditions.

"Every year is a new emotion," said Sciampitta owner Gianni Orrù, "we're at the 41st edition, but no two are the same."

The evening was attended by municipal and regional authorities, including Franco Cuccureddu, Regional Councilor for Tourism, who emphasized, "We are truly pleased to support Sciampitta, which has now reached its 41st edition. A festival rooted in the territory and culture of the entire island. In a historic moment of war and division, here we celebrate the unity of peoples." Argentina's presence provided a curious interlude, with members of the group arriving in the square all wearing the jerseys of the team playing in the seminal World Cup, complete with a huge celebration at the final whistle.

Sciampitta says goodbye but will have a follow-up on September 26th at Sa dom'e Farra with the presentation of the book "Seven Girls, a Cart, and a Thousand Stories: Inside the Magic of San Giovanni in Quartu Sant'Elena." By Margherita Puddu, Giani Orrù, Aldo Cinus, and Mariano Staffa.
