In memory of William Manca, found dead on September 10, 2025, in the Bancali countryside of Sassari. Tonight in the Church of Sant'Apollinare, Father Eugenio Cavallo remembered the 45-year-old Sassari native during a religious service, before his family and the many people present. He emphasized the solitude that accompanied William's final moments on this earth and recalled the importance of never abandoning others.

The anniversary of Manca's disappearance was held in his neighborhood and on the street where he lived his entire life until his tragic end. The Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into his death, headed by Prosecutor Angelo Beccu. In recent months, Beccu has issued a notice of conclusion of investigations against two people, one charged with drug trafficking and possession, and the other with manslaughter and concealment of a corpse.

The 45-year-old was last seen alive on September 6th, traveling with other men between the historic center, the outskirts of Li Punti, and the hamlet of Bancali. That night, he felt ill and lost consciousness, but no one helped him, and he died several hours later.

According to the Carabinieri's investigation, one of his acquaintances who was with him abandoned the body in a field where it was found on the 10th by some snail hunters.

In this year of great sorrow for William's family, his brothers in particular have called for justice for their relative. And, as one of them, Fabio, said, remembering him in an interview: "He was a good-hearted boy. And they used him and defrauded him."
