The intervention of the men and vehicles of the fire brigade was necessary to allow the 118 personnel to try to save a patient weighing 250 kilos who needed treatment.

The 50-year-old from Sassari died shortly after arriving at the Santissima Annunziata civil hospital. The rescuers who intervened yesterday evening, shortly after 21, had to work hard to get the patient who had experienced heart problems out of his home. The rescue operation lasted over three hours.

The man lived on the fifth floor of a building, in via 24 Maggio, therefore it was necessary to intervene with a ladder truck and a bariatric stretcher to transport him to the ground and place him in the ambulance.

Doctors and paramedics, together with the 115 teams, did everything to save his life, but there was nothing they could do. Resuscitation attempts were useless, the 50-year-old died in hospital of cardiac arrest.
