This ugly mess at the PalaSerradimigni in Sassari extends the chapter of postponements and missed opportunities. The third tender for the expansion of the building in Piazzale Segni also expired on Tuesday but no offers were submitted as in August and autumn, even if the interest of two companies convinced the Municipality of Sassari to grant an extension of the terms by one week .

The fact is that even if the long-awaited offer arrives from a company to complete the facility by expanding it to 5,950 seats, there are technical times that will in fact cause at least two months, if not three, to be wasted before the start. some jobs. And to think that this year with Dinamo out of the championship playoffs, we could have started work as early as Monday 6 May and enjoyed four full months.

If the works begin at the end of the summer it will still be a problem for Dinamo's season, given that in Sardinia there is no other arena with a capacity similar to the current one of the PalaSerradimigni and any other solution would still penalize season ticket holders. There is therefore a risk of not completing the work even in 2025 as the Campus Council hoped.

In short, the project, born badly and out of time, given the decline in spectators, continues to reserve only delays and problems. Although the construction site was opened in June 2020 and the initial financing of the insufficient Jessica funds was increased from 4.3 million euros to 13 million thanks to the Sardinia Region.
