The man believed to be responsible for the attempted murder of Luca Silanos on January 19th in Predda Niedda, Sassari, has been arrested.
Giovanni Maninchedda, also charged with illegal possession of firearms, was taken to Bancali prison as ordered by the preliminary investigations judge of the Sassari court. He reported to the police station this morning accompanied by his lawyers after being unavailable for two weeks.
The public prosecutor's office had ascertained that he was the one who shot, with an illegally held 9mm semi-automatic pistol, after an argument for reasons that have yet to be ascertained.
The weapon, whose serial number was removed, was recovered today by Carabinieri officers along with seven rounds of ammunition, thanks in part to information provided by the suspect. Silanos, who was shot in the femur, had to undergo surgery.
