The judge for preliminary investigations of the Sassari court, at the request of the public prosecutor, ordered the precautionary measure in prison against the young man accused of the robbery carried out in Sassari, in a shop in Caniga , last 10 April.

«The decision - explain the investigators - was taken taking into account that there is a concrete danger that the man will commit other crimes of the same kind : the facts that emerged may be indicative of an almost total absence of inhibition to the crime and of a significant speed of conception and implementation of the criminal purpose. They would denote a marked social danger, such as to make the repetition of similar criminal behavior highly probable."

The investigating judge's order was served in Bancali prison, where the young man is currently detained.

According to the reconstruction of the facts, last April 10 the young man had entered a grocery store holding a gun and had ordered the owner to hand over the proceeds to him . To avoid being recognized, he had covered his head with the hood of the winter jacket he was wearing and to hide his face he had used a flashy pair of sunglasses.

Having collected the loot, the man ran away, losing track of himself.

However, after starting the investigation, the local police officers had identified the person responsible, thanks also to the recordings of the video surveillance system in the area and the testimonies collected.

Having searched the home of the young man, resident in a municipality in the Sassari hinterland, the officers found the gun used for the robbery: a toy weapon from which the red cap had been removed to make it similar to a real gun. What also nailed him was the discovery of the clothes he was wearing during the robbery.
