The mayor of Alghero, Mario Conoci , had anticipated it yesterday on social media. It is now the countdown for the last lot of the four-lane Sassari-Alghero road . The call for tenders , initially scheduled for September, was published by Anas : 238 million euros for the few kilometers from Rudas to the city, plus the link road to the airport.
"An acceleration on time, after the go-ahead given by the President of the Region, which represents a concrete and tangible step forward towards the real start of the works", commented the mayor.
"We have kept our commitments . The tender for the assignment of the works for the completion of the Sassari-Alghero line represents the last mile towards the opening of the construction sites for the construction of a long-awaited strategic work»: declared the President of the Region and Extraordinary Commissioner in charge by the Government, Christian Solinas , who expresses his satisfaction with the publication in the European Gazette by Anas of the tender for the assignment of the works for the construction of lots 1 and 4 of the SS291. «Thanks to the work we have carried out and a stronger understanding with the Government, we have managed to give new impetus to the construction of major works that needed to find adequate financial coverage. The development of Sardinia - concludes President Solinas - cannot do without a modern and safe road network, capable of effectively connecting the whole island and, in this sense, the Sassari-Alghero route represents a fundamental step towards this goal". .
The president of the regional council and coordinator of the League, Michele Pais , was also satisfied. « A result that I do not exaggerate to consider historic for a work that has been awaited for decades now, blocked over the years both by the importance of the necessary funds and by bureaucratic problems, and on the realization of which the community seemed legitimately to have lost all hope ».
Good news also for the former mayors of Alghero, Marco Tedde and Mario Bruno . For the blue it is a political victory for Sardinia . "But we continue to keep our guard up and ensure that the next procedural points are developed with the necessary promptness," warns Tedde. Bruno, on the other hand, is keen to thank «all those who have collaborated in the institutions. A heartfelt thanks to the social and trade union organizations and to the citizens who have always actively supported every initiative for a fundamental road artery for Northern Sardinia".
