Sardinian photovoltaic plants will cause agriculture to lose another 100,000 hectares.

Sardinia is rebelling. Not only against the 4,500 onshore and offshore wind turbines that were considered certain to be built on land and at sea following a wave of projects presented by wind power lords, aided by a near-total regulatory vacuum, but also against hundreds of thousands of solar panels.
In a few years, if all the projects presented were to be accepted (and which, incidentally, could multiply in a short time), much of the island's agricultural land could be covered in silicon: one hundred thousand hectares like this, without batting an eyelid.
This is happening while the moratorium has been overturned and the Suitable Areas Law (already significantly weakened by the TAR and the Council of State) awaits the Constitutional Court's ruling.
The Pratobello bill, however, is hidden in a drawer in the Regional Council, invoked by everyone but, in fact, supported only by the Committees.
"The 'cass' root when it comes to regional laws has, in recent times , become deeply rooted in regional politics, and the attitude of national politics has reinvigorated colonialist choices towards our land," says Davide Fadda, spokesperson for the Presidio del Popolo Sardo, who on the eve of Ferragosto organized a vigil to draw attention to the ongoing devastation caused by wind power.
