From the heart of San Sperate comes to life the PanGioiello , a golden and one-of-a-kind panettone created by Rita Cardia in her home laboratory, part of the local development project “Fatu in domo”.
A confectionary work that represents a unique and identifying reinterpretation of the Christmas panettone and which is inspired by the Sardinian button , one of the symbolic jewels of the island's craftsmanship.
PanGioiello stands out for its decorations recreated with royal icing , which recall the refined weaves and motifs of the precious Sardinian jewel. «I wanted to reinterpret the intricate and symbolic details of this jewel – explains Rita Cardia – transforming them into a dessert that tells our story and enhances the cultural roots of Sardinia».
"The idea of decorating panettone with motifs inspired by Sardinian filigree buttons - explains anthropologist Veronica Matta (President of Sa Mata) - creates a symbolic link between two worlds: the precious craftsmanship of Sardinia and the confectionery art of Lombardy . This example demonstrates how traditions can be reinterpreted to preserve local identity and celebrate island culture, while enhancing cultural and symbolic elements of national and international importance".
