There is an unclear passage in the text of the 250 million euro budget change which will arrive in the Chamber on 1 August. In the first paragraph of article 19 it talks about the authorization of an expenditure of «30 million euros for the reorganization of strategic shareholdings in the transport sector and for the realization of the necessary investments".
The governor Alessandra Todde and the budget councilor Giuseppe Meloni have already explained that they will be used to allow the Region to have an active role in the process of merging the Sardinian airports . In practice, the Region aims to acquire sufficient shares at least to convene the meeting of the members of the future holding company. But all this is not written in law. That paragraph doesn't even make reference to the island's ports of call.
"The Regional Council has a duty to see clearly," declared FdI deputy group leader Fausto Piga yesterday. For this reason, the opposition asked for an extraordinary session of the Budget Commission to be convened, at which - however - the Transport Councilor Barbara Manca did not show up but the Budget Manager and Vice President Meloni.
