Today's fire report in Sardinia is very serious, with 25 fires (recorded) from north to south of the island. In several cases, the flames have not yet been extinguished, with nine interventions by the regional fleet of aircraft. Among these, the one in Ales, in the Perda Casteddu area, is particularly severe , over an area of Mediterranean scrub, with the deployment of two Canadair aircraft. The toll in Jerzu is also heavy, with several homes threatened by the flames .
In the Serramanna countryside, near Casello 33, damage has been reported to a farm: the flames have killed numerous livestock, particularly pigs . Firefighting operations are being coordinated by the Sanluri Forestry Corps station, with a helicopter from its base in Pula. Also on site are the Samassi and Serramanna barracelli, the Mandas firefighters, and a Forestas team from Villacidro. The fires are burning arable land and riparian vegetation near the railway line north of town.
In Nuraminis, amidst woods and countryside near Monte Matta Murroni, approximately 100 hectares of Mediterranean scrub, arable land, olive groves, and uncultivated land near a cement factory caught fire. The flames threatened a service area and a high-voltage Terna overhead power line before being extinguished by personnel from the Dolianova Forestry Corps station and helicopters from the Villasalto, Pula, and Fenosu (Super Puma) bases. They also included firefighters from Cagliari and Sanluri, along with volunteers from Serramanna and San Sperate.
Mediterranean scrub is also burning in the fires in Codrongianos (Matta Chivasu), Carloforte (Monte Giannurango) , and Ales (Castello Barumeli, in a different location than the other fire in the same municipality). Flames are also burning on agricultural land in Senorbì (Su Bangiu), San Giovanni Suergiu (Is Cordeddas), and Assemini (Flumini Mannu). In all these cases, the use of helicopters was necessary .
