Another day of fires from north to south in Sardinia, where the heat is palpable, not just because of the temperatures. The first fires started this morning, but it was those that broke out in the early afternoon that have the firefighters most concerned.

Noragugume was besieged by flames. Two Canadairs and six helicopters from the Regional Forestry Corps, including a Super Puma, responded to the scene. The flames, which started in the countryside, almost reached the edge of the town.

Dangerous situation in Santu Lussurgiu, near Chiamenta. Three helicopters, including a Super Puma, responded to a fire that broke out in a wooded area. Ground crews were also at work. The blaze was contained within a few hours.

A large fire broke out this morning in San Nicolò d'Arcidano near Bau Mauro. Three helicopters, including a Super Puma, and a Canadair from Olbia responded.

The island began to burn early. In Sulcis in particular, the Forestry Corps intervened with two helicopters on a fire in the Narcao area in the Riu Frassu locality. Flames were also present in Bottidda and in Bono in the Pedra Tunda locality. The fourth fire of the morning broke out in Teti in the Masolo Prano locality. Fires were also present in Girasole , in the Cabras locality, and in Sorso (La Prunosa locality). In the Cagliari area, a fire broke out in Decimomannu in the Pisanu locality and in the capital on via Campo Scipione .
