«No Sardinian school will be closed due to school sizing». This is the reassurance of the Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara and the regional school superintendent Francesco Feliziani after the protests over the plan that would cancel over 40 institutions on the island .
The Milleproroghe decree puts a damper on the situation, establishing that the managers of multiple locations can be supported by teachers with the function of deputy, who will be relieved from teaching and will thus be able to run the institute full time.
But the unions remain skeptical: «It is the rationale of the law that is wrong – underlines the Sardinian CISL – and must be overcome with new investments in schools».
