As several citizens have reported, the house that collapsed in the center of Santa Giusta, in via Garibaldi, last April 17 , could have had an asbestos roof. With the risk therefore of a possible dispersion of fibers in the air. This is why the association of former asbestos exposed people immediately took action.
President Giampaolo Lilliu asks that the area be made safe urgently . He asks the prefect of Oristano, the mayor of Santa Giusta, the Fire Department Command of Oristano, the Public Hygiene Directorate of the ASL of Oristano and the Local Police Command to intervene. He sent them a note yesterday.
"I ask everyone for their role," writes Lilliu, "to intervene to secure the entire area in which the house is located, but also to urgently arrange all the necessary checks for the possible presence of asbestos cement sheets . And in the positive case to activate the immediate removal of the artifacts and their delivery to the authorized landfill and a complete reclamation of the entire area."
Finally, Lilliu asks for intervention to guarantee "environmental protection and the defense of citizens' right to health , essential values for a dignified life for them".
