Grief and tears lingered in Sanluri at the funeral of Matteo Mocci, the young candidate on Cinzia Fenu's list who died in a tragic accident in Sanluri Stato on Monday evening.

The church of San Lorenzo is small enough to accommodate all the people present.

The entire community gathered to pay their last respects to the 25-year-old who lost his life on Election Day: after the polls closed, he was on his way to work when his car collided with that of a colleague traveling in the opposite direction.

News of the tragedy quickly spread to Sanluri, where the newly elected mayor, Alberto Urpi, had decided to cancel all celebrations.
