Attempted theft, receiving stolen goods, providing false personal information, and incitement to corruption : these are the charges a 26-year-old Peruvian man has to answer for , arrested last night by the Carabinieri in Sanluri in flagrante delicto.

The military intervened during routine nighttime patrols, when the patrol's attention was drawn to the suspicious movements of the young man, who was caught attempting to sneak into a home in the city center. The officers intervened quickly, stopping him before he could complete his intrusion.

A subsequent personal search yielded several items, which turned out to be the proceeds of a previous theft. Specifically, the Carabinieri recovered a gold necklace, a wallet, a leather purse, and a smartphone.

The story took on even more bizarre aspects during the subsequent identification phase. The arrested man, attempting to evade responsibility, initially provided false personal details. Seeing himself trapped, he then sought a last, desperate escape route by attempting to bribe the police : he offered them the gold necklace he had just seized in exchange for his own impunity and release, an attempt which was obviously rejected.

Once the incident was reconstructed and the formal procedures completed, all the stolen goods were seized and duly stored pending their return to their rightful owners, while the man was taken, by order of the judicial authorities, to prison in Uta.
