San Vito, the mayor's appeal: "Enough with dumping household waste in public bins."

We can no longer continue to dump household waste in public bins—as is increasingly happening. This was emphasized by San Vito Mayor Marco Antonio Siddi, who appealed to residents and tourists.

"It is necessary," he said, "to implement more concrete collaboration in practicing the separate collection of solid urban waste and, above all, avoiding the abandonment of waste along urban and suburban roads. Each user is responsible for providing special containers for the various categories of household waste, and only these should be used."

Siddi reminds us that "waste bins installed in public spaces and along main roads should not be used to deposit bags containing daily household waste, but simply for the occasional on-site waste."

The appeal is also addressed to property owners who rent out properties on a temporary basis "to provide their guests with appropriate containers, along with a schedule for the proper disposal of their waste." The mayor, in support of his appeal, published a series of images "which unfortunately," he concluded, "demonstrate the poor attitude toward separating urban waste and using containers."
