A 42 year old Indian (resident in Milan but untraceable) and a 20 year old Ghanaian (resident in Ferrara) were reported in San Vito by the local police station for aggravated fraud.

The investigation was triggered after the complaint of a 46-year-old craftsman from Muravera.

According to what emerged from the investigations, the Ghanaian, between 11 and 15 February 2021, pretending to be an Italian who had actually put a car up for sale, had the 46-year-old Sardinian credited him on Postepay with 1,100 euros as an advance for the purchase of the car. As a telephone account he used one headed to the Indian.

The car obviously never arrived and the scammer turned to the carabinieri. The military arrived at the identification of the perpetrators of the scam by following the path of the money with the help of the Post Office administration.

The legitimate owner of the car, a 43-year-old originally from Polistena but resident in Genoa, also filed a complaint against unknown persons for substitution of person.
