For rescue at sea, bathing season 2023, the Region approved the resolution to program the resources transferred from the State (406,211 euros) and the additional regional ones (1 million 100 thousand euros), for a total amount of 1,506,211 euros. The figures are provided by Marco Porcu, regional councilor for the defense of the environment with responsibility for civil protection.

The funds, in favor of the coastal Municipalities, are intended for the preparation of programs for forecasting and preventing seaside risk.

"Pending the approval of the "Multi-risk regional civil protection plan", an important specific planning tool for each coastal municipality, which allows the risk associated with bathing to be assessed, we have equipped ourselves with the criteria for the allocation of available funds, so to encourage the establishment of adequate bathing facilities on the coasts of the island», added councilor Porcu.

«For the allocation of grants, the linear development of the beaches usable for bathing is taken into account, evaluated net of stretches of beach with bathing establishments, the number of sea rescue interventions (database of the last ten years of the Port Authorities of the Sardinia), of the validity of the municipal or inter-municipal "Plan for the use of the coasts", and of the number of rescue stations ", he concluded.
