It seemed like a perfect hit , planned down to the smallest details. Instead, the gang that attacked the armored van on the Aurelia , in Tuscany, last March 28, was caught by at least two “trivial” errors .

First: they left behind a piece of paper with two phone numbers , recovered in a company of one of the suspects. Second: for the assault they stole a car whose keys had an “Air Tag” attached , an Apple device for finding lost objects via iPhone. Help also came from videos ( WATCH ) recorded by eyewitnesses, “almost unaware” of the danger, but whom the investigators thanked.

Clues that contributed decisively to the investigations of the Carabinieri, leading to the arrest of 11 people between Ogliastra, Barbagia and Baronia .

The investigations are now continuing, with magistrates and investigators looking for possible links between the gang and other recent robberies , such as the assault on Vigilpol vehicles in Siligo last January and the raid on the Mondialpol vault in Sassari in June 2024.
