"A group of people took action; they took long and short guns. We're still trying to assess the damage."

These are the words of Silvia Steri , owner of the Sardara gun shop that was raided by a group of robbers last night around 2:30 AM. She's speaking while in the shop, taking inventory of the merchandise to determine what exactly was stolen.

The break-in was certainly a success: "It was a group of people, they managed to get in. The video surveillance system triggered the alarm, which alerted both me and the Carabinieri."

The woman's parents live upstairs in the building on Via Ariosto, on the outskirts of town, where the gun shop is located. They were awakened by the commotion and the alarm. Discovered, the robbers attempted to flee. It was at this point that several shots were fired at the home. They then fled.

The Carabinieri intervened on site to carry out surveys and begin the investigation.
