For years those destroyed or collapsed curbs constituted a danger for motorcyclists (there was also an accident), cyclists and also involved extensive damage to cars.

But now the infrastructures in front of the "Serbariu" intermodal station in Carbonia , in via Roma, are back in conditions of safety and decorum.

The workers of a municipal company fixed the granite curbs and machicolations, some of which had sunk tens of centimeters near the parking lots.

A situation that had been dragging on for at least five years and that in one circumstance, about a year ago, had caused a road accident involving a scooter with two on board.

The subsidence also had repercussions from the point of view of water outflow : in front of the station, in the event of heavy rain, the water stagnated even for hours, causing road traffic to slow down.

Part of the machicolations have been placed in the access platform to the main train, bus and taxi center. The others, on the other hand, in the central reservation: they had been damaged above all by the transit of heavy vehicles.
