No to the blockade of sea urchin fishing for three years. So a hedgehog climbed onto the ledge of the Regional Council building. A little while ago, once calmed down, he came down of his own free will.

But the protest is much wider.

The Sardinian fishermen, who have been on duty since this morning under the Regional Council, and in particular the sea urchins, who this afternoon blocked traffic in via Roma, in Cagliari, are asking for attention from politics.

One of the demonstrators climbed to the ledge of the building, after moments of fear he was persuaded to go down.

"We don't want refreshments, we want to work", this is the unanimous chorus. «They imposed a blockade on fishing for three years, but we don't know on what basis - says Antonio Puddu, one of the 189 authorized sea urchin fishermen on the island - the biologists' research would show that the sea urchins are suffering, those who go every day he says it's not like that."

And again: «We had made our proposals - recalls Puddu - to find a compromise, we proposed to reduce the number of baskets and days a week in which to fish, but they didn't give us an answer. We could have found a solution of that type, reducing withdrawals, not canceling them. Now we ask that if it is stopped there must be both for a year ».

This morning the Uil fishermen made further requests for the sector in general, such as the conversion of licenses, against payment of compensation, to fishing operators who work with small trawlers and who fish near the coast "creating damage to the seabed and destroying marine fauna that is too small» and also «more checks for compliance with the law on pots».

In the morning the president of the Productive Activities commission, Piero Maieli, the majority regional councilor Michele Ennas (Lega) and the opposition councilor, Desirè Manca (M5S) stopped to listen to the requests .
