The municipal administration of Uta is taking action to address the extraordinary heatwave that is characterizing the summer of 2026. With the resolution passed by the Council yesterday, also published on the portal amministrazionetrasparente.unionesarda.it , the Municipality has officially declared a state of natural disaster due to the persistent and anomalous heat waves that have been following one another without stopping since last June .

The measure, strongly supported by Mayor Paolo Angioni and approved unanimously, addresses the numerous critical warnings issued by the General Directorate of Civil Protection of the Sardinia Region for the Campidano area.

Extreme and prolonged temperatures have caused and continue to cause significant damage to three vital sectors of the local economy: agriculture, livestock farming, and beekeeping . Although the detailed assessment and assessment of the damage suffered by local businesses is still ongoing, the Regional Council has determined that all the factual and legal conditions exist to proceed with the formalization of a state of emergency.

The resolution was urgently forwarded to the Regional Directorate General for Civil Protection, thus activating the necessary institutional channels to request interventions and support for the affected businesses.
