"She had changed, she was no longer the outgoing girl I knew and with whom I had become friends." The former partner of footballer Daniele Ragatzu, formerly of Cagliari and Olbia and currently playing for Pontedera, was described in this way by a friend and colleague today during the hearing before the Tempio Pausania Court, as part of the trial against the footballer accused of stalking and mistreatment.

The woman, who has been friends with the alleged victim since 2014, was called to the courtroom as a witness for the civil party and answered questions from the civil party's lawyer Cristina Cherchi, and from Ragatzu's lawyer Filippo Pirisi and the public prosecutor.

She described her friend and colleague as "deeply upset and unreachable on the phone" during the period from October 2016 to the same month in 2017, when she was having a relationship with the footballer, with whom she later had a child.

The sister of the alleged victim, who was 14 at the time of the events, was then called to the stand. The girl confirmed that she had been aware of alleged verbal and even physical abuse to which her sister had been subjected by her ex-partner and added that their father had witnessed threatening phone calls and insults from Ragatzu towards the young girl.

Reason why she would have felt a great resentment towards her daughter's partner, so much so that she registered his phone number with the nickname "monster". However, the girl also emphasized that her sister's relationship with her parent had been strained for some time due to the ongoing separation from their mother. On October 8th, the court will return to hear three more civil party witnesses.
