A "train" of Atlantic disturbances is arriving in central and southern Italy, bringing more rain but less cold.

Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist at iLMeteo.it, confirms that December will begin with a cold spell in southern Italy and the islands: starting Thursday, in fact, a flow of cold North Atlantic air will plunge from the Gulf of Lion (Marseille) towards the Sea of Corsica and the Sea of Sardinia, where it will form a dangerous vortex. Bad weather is therefore expected between Thursday and Friday in Sardinia, the south, and locally in the northwest.

Specifically, heavy rain and localized downpours will occur especially on Thursday across Calabria, Basilicata, and Puglia, particularly on the Ionian coast, where rapid flooding could occur. On Friday, Sardinia is expected to be hit by the most severe weather, with further widespread downpours likely, but somewhat unseasonable.
