Local police and environmental inspectors are intensifying checks in Quartu. This includes areas where used clothing bins are located, which have been overrun by uncivilized people throughout the city and its suburbs. Three people were identified and fined for abandoning bags and bulky items right next to these bins in the Is Arenas area. They were fined €1,000 .

At different times, the three quietly approached the dumpsters in their cars and casually dumped the large bags and pieces of furniture. But this time, they didn't get away with it. The fines are in addition to the thirty others for indiscriminate waste disposal issued between January and April.

One of the city's scourges is the abandonment of bulky items. Furniture, appliances, and other items are left on the street, even though you can simply email De Vizia for home collection .

On average, 45,000 kg of bulky waste is disposed of each month, including home collections. A total of 7,292 tons of waste is disposed of at the recycling center. Of this, the highest percentage, as expected, is dry waste at 31%. Next comes green waste, including pruning and lawn clippings, which account for 20%. Then there's 7% each for wood and glass, 9% for paper, and 10% for organic waste. Regarding the various types of waste, the rules are strict for tires, bulky waste, and debris: 50 kg of debris and four pieces of bathroom fixtures are allowed per year. And four used tires can be disposed of annually.
