Following the vandalism of the last few days , volunteers from the Amici dei fortini association have temporarily repaired the entrance gate to the Savoy fort Su Forti a Margine Rosso on the Quartu coast.

"Thanks to the prompt reporting of the gate torn down by vandals," explains Emanuele Contu, president of the Amici dei Fortini association, "we immediately informed the competent authorities and forwarded a request for intervention to the Region, which owns the property. To prevent further damage, we have temporarily secured the gate so that it remains secure until official repairs are made." That said, "we continue to monitor and intervene whenever our history and our territory are damaged. We thank those who report irregularities: civic collaboration is essential." The Amici del Fortini association has been pursuing a project for some time to enhance the value of the military fortifications from the Second World War scattered throughout the area.

Some time ago, it also began a census of the sites. Among the most significant are the Simbirizzi forts, unfortunately often at the mercy of vandals who fill them with waste and then set them on fire, and they also provide shelter for the homeless. Other fortifications are present at Poetto and Margine Rosso. Then there are those in Quartello, which were recently reclaimed by volunteers and are awaiting redevelopment.
