The gang of kids , all minors and apparently foreigners, who in recent months had beaten and threatened some of their peers in the area of Santa Maria in Quartu Sant'Elena , has once again caused damage, so much so that in recent days three other mothers have gone to the police officers to file a complaint. So now many kids in the area, all between twelve and thirteen years old, are afraid to go out and are forced to stay indoors.

The latest in a long series of episodes was just a week ago. To tell it, always behind the guarantee of anonymity for fear of retaliation, is the mother of a twelve year old.

«My son was going out with a friend – says the woman – he often does it because he is right nearby, without moving away. However, after a few minutes I see him go back home terrified». It happened a few steps from Piazza Santa Maria, «practically as he was at the house waiting for his friend, the usual bullies approached, there were three of them on scooters, and they told him to give him the money. Luckily he was able to reopen the door immediately and go back up and ironically they told him "Come on, if you don't give them to us, we won't beat you". I immediately looked out the window to tell them to leave and they fled».

In recent months, another boy had been beaten a few meters from the former kindergarten in via Boito and two other thirteen year olds had been attacked, one always near Santa Maria, the other on his way to Molentargius for a birthday party.
