Pedestrians are at risk in Quartu at the intersection of Via Porcu and Via Marconi . Not only is the crossing located right at the intersection with reduced visibility, but the crossings are also partially obliterated.

Residents have long been asking for the crosswalk to be moved a few meters further forward to prevent cars from speeding past, apparently unaware of anyone crossing until the last minute, but the situation has remained unchanged.

"Crossing at these crosswalks on Via Porcu is really dangerous," says Maria Rita Angioni as she heads to the market. "They come at full speed from Via Marconi and suddenly stop. I also think it would be better to move the crossing a little further forward because it's right at the intersection now."

But there are several dangerous crossings in the city. Among these is certainly the one on Viale Colombo, just steps from the roundabout at the intersection with Via Marconi, where almost no one stops to let pedestrians cross and people drive past without looking, often even texting.

And then there's Via Giotto, at the intersection with Via Marconi, also a high-risk area due to the presence of cars arriving from three different directions and many others.

Just on Viale Colombo in recent days, a 94-year-old man was hit while crossing the street, suffering multiple injuries to his legs.
