An unexpected and exciting event for the many people who flock to the Quartu coast every day. On Sunday afternoon, a pair of dolphins began to approach within a few meters of the shore, catching the attention of swimmers.
"It was beautiful," says beachgoer Claudia Valdes. "There were so many people at that moment, and the more we cheered, the closer the dolphins, undaunted by the slightest, came, putting on a spectacular show." The happiest were, of course, the children. And, needless to say, they rushed to capture them with their cell phones, taking photos and videos.
This isn't the first time dolphins have approached the shore for a close encounter with swimmers. They often do so to hunt schools of fish, taking advantage of the shallow waters. Their dances on the sea are a thrilling moment that has also been filmed in other areas of the Quartu coast, such as Flumini and Margine Rosso, on the stretch of beach below the railing, now completely submerged by seaweed.
