Carabinieri from the Quartu Company's Mobile Radio Unit conducted an operation following a theft: a 39-year-old man from Cagliari was arrested for aggravated theft.

The raid took place during the night during a large-scale preventive operation carried out in the city, with the mobilization of several patrols.

It was 2 a.m. when someone forced their way into the IperPan supermarket on Via Lavatino, emptying the bar of cigarettes and scratch cards. The arrival of the Carabinieri, mobilized from the operations center on Via Milano, scared off the criminals, but subsequent investigations quickly led to the identification of one of the alleged perpetrators.

The 39-year-old, already under house arrest, was placed under house arrest overnight. At his home, the Carabinieri recovered part of the stolen goods that had been stolen from the IperPan bar: 102 packs of cigarettes and 14 scratch cards. The man was thus arrested; a validation hearing will be held this morning at the Prosecutor's Office.
