Quartu, alarm raised near Piazza Sant'Elena: "They were being chased by a man on a bicycle."

Fear erupted in the Piazza Sant'Elena area of Quartu, where several young women reported being chased by a man on a bicycle.

The time is more or less always the same: around midnight. A young woman who works in one of the businesses in the historic center but who prefers to remain anonymous says: "I was chased by a guy on a bicycle. He had a strange face. I was really scared. It happened between Piazza Sant'Elena and Via Diaz. I wanted to warn the other girls to be careful and to see if anyone else had had the same experience."

Another woman shared the same fear on social media: "I went out for a short walk with my dog in the Sant'Elena area, near Via Brigata Sassari, Via Cagliari, and surrounding streets. During the ride, I noticed a boy on a bicycle who seemed to be following me for a long stretch. He stared at me frequently, slowed down when I slowed down, and at times stopped completely, only to start following me again ."

The frightened young woman took refuge in the open door of a house, but the stranger began following her again. "I can't know what his intentions were, but his behavior seemed insistent enough to make me feel unsafe, especially considering the time of day and the fact that he followed me for quite a distance. That's why I wanted to report this individual's presence, so that anyone who encounters him in the area can be alert and, if they find themselves in a similar situation, avoid underestimating him." Other reports had come in months ago: on that occasion, the young women were apparently being chased by a man with a hood pulled down over his face.
