The water outage in Quartu had been forecast for days, but it was supposed to affect only a few streets in the Pirastu area. Instead, at lunchtime, the entire city, including the coastline as usual, which is served by another pipeline, found its taps running dry without warning .

Abbanoa explained that "teams of workers proceeded with the replacement of a special piece in the main on Via Pirastu." However, while the work was being completed, "it was necessary to suspend water from the main main serving the entire town for about an hour. But in reality, the hours have become much longer, especially for those living on the upper floors, and even now, many residents are complaining about lack of water and drops in pressure. All this after just a few days ago, Mayor Graziano Milia issued a ultimatum: "Abbanoa should carry out the work but without ever again shutting off the water to the entire residential area."
