In Quartu, the Carabinieri of the local station, supported by their colleagues from Selargius and the Operations and Radiomobile Unit, arrested a married couple on charges of drug dealing and resisting a public official.

The military suspected that the couple's home was the base for their drug dealing activity and, after a series of stakeouts, decided to intervene.

When the Carabinieri arrived, the owner of the house, a 55-year-old unemployed man already known to the police , was caught in the act of selling several doses of cocaine to a buyer on the doorstep of his apartment.
Upon seeing the uniforms, the situation quickly escalated. The man, attempting to escape, put up violent resistance with the help of his wife, a 57-year-old office worker . During the heated exchange, the couple repeatedly struck one of the officers, hitting him with the front door to block his path. Despite the assault, the Carabinieri managed to subdue the couple, while the injured officer required medical attention . The 55-year-old was also rushed to the hospital, suffering from a sudden illness.
The subsequent house search led to the seizure of three sealed envelopes containing cocaine , almost five thousand euros in cash and various materials used to package the doses.

The couple was then placed under house arrest , awaiting trial with a fast-track procedure at the Court of Cagliari.
