The 19-year-old, stopped and arrested after a chase through the coastal streets of Quartu , failed to stop at a police checkpoint and attempted to flee on a scooter . The chase ended shortly afterward when the young man lost control of the vehicle and crashed into some shrubs on the edge of the road. Subsequent investigations revealed that the young man, unemployed and already known to law enforcement , had never held a driving license , and that the scooter , registered to a man in his fifties, had already been subject to administrative seizure .

The incident occurred during a check by Carabinieri officers from the temporary station in Flumini di Quartu. The officers had ordered the scooter driver to stop, but the young man apparently accelerated suddenly in an attempt to evade detection, sparking a chase through the city streets. During his escape, he allegedly performed several dangerous maneuvers, endangering other motorists.

After the accident, the 19-year-old abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into the countryside, initially managing to disappear. However, the Carabinieri were able to identify him, and he voluntarily reported to the police station. He was arrested. The scooter was seized again.
