Pursued by police and carabinieri, he crashes into a wall in Sestu

Eventful overnight arrest in Sestu during an operation conducted by the local police station and a police car from the police station.

A 45-year-old from Decimoputzu ended up in handcuffs on charges of attempted injury, resistance and receiving stolen goods.

It all started just before 11pm on the 554 where a police car intercepted an off-road Pick up. The intervention of the carabinieri of the Sestu station was also triggered who, coordinated by the lieutenant Riccardo Pirali, tried to block the road at the roundabout of the town: they placed their Alfetta on a lane hoping that the fugitive would stop or in any case slow down. The off-road vehicle instead ended up on the military car with a member of the patrol who, to avoid the worst and therefore be overwhelmed, threw himself on the ditch.

The stranger would not have stopped, the carabinieri got into their car (damaged in the bodywork), and the chase resumed together with the police until the off-road vehicle took via Iglesias in the town of Sestu where it crashed into a wall.

The off-road vehicle would have been stolen in Villasor. The criminal, who also had two televisions on board that were stolen, was captured, arrested immediately afterwards and taken to the police station. Tomorrow the trial, the man must answer for resistance and public official and receiving stolen goods.
